Q: How does your CSA program work?
Sign up for the season
When you sign up for our program (by submitting an application) you are
subscribing for the entire season (unless you checked the 1-month trial on your
application). A typical season runs from mid-October through May. During that
time you will receive a mixed box of vegetables on a weekly or bi-weekly (every
other week) basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time but must notify
the farm at least 48 hours in advance.
Two
payment options
A subscriber must pay for either the entire season in advance or for the month
in advance. If you sign up to be billed on a monthly basis, you will be charged
for the number of boxes you will receive that month (i.e., if you sign up to
receive a weekly box and there are 4 weeks in the month, your monthly amount due
will be the cost of the 4 boxes).
One-month
trial
We offer a one-month trial subscription for new subscribers. Payment for the
month in advance is required. Once the trial subscription has ended, we will
contact you to ask if you wish to continue for the remainder of the season.
Two
box sizes
We have two box sizes: large and small, which can be picked up at the farm or
delivered to your home or office (within our limited delivery area).
Skipped
boxes
If you have to skip a box, you must notify the farm at least 48 hours in advance
in order to receive a credit on your account. You also have the option of
donating it to the Food Bank or asking someone else to pick it up for you. If
you do not notify us and a box is prepared for you, you will be charged for the
box.
Vegetable
preferences
The vegetables that you find in your box will vary from week to week depending
on what we are harvesting at that time. We are not a supermarket so you will not
be able to pick and choose the vegetables in your box. However, you may list up
to 4 vegetables that you wish to exclude from your box on your application. We
will try to replace the vegetables you don’t like
with the vegetables you do like when packing your box. You also have the option
of ordering extra items (at an additional cost) to be added to your regular box.
